Cheslin Collins, accused Reiger Park cop killer, posts defiant gang video before court

A 22-year-old murder suspect has sparked massive public backlash after a video of him taunting rivals went viral shortly after his appearance in the Boksburg Magistrates Court. Cheslin Collins stands accused of a brutal ambush in Reiger Park on 7 August 2026, which left four people dead.

The National Prosecuting Authority has leveled heavy charges against Collins, including murder, attempted murder, and robbery with aggravating circumstances. He also faces charges for the illegal possession of firearms and ammunition following his arrest in Germiston.

A Deadly Ambush in Reiger Park

The state alleges that Constables Tlomatsana and Sibeko were responding to reports of gunfire when they were shot and stripped of their service weapons. The attack also claimed the lives of two civilians, Jayden Magerman and Roleen Lessing.

Law enforcement officials managed to track Collins down and recovered two R5 rifles that had been stolen during the incident. The suspect has since identified himself as a member of the Vatos Locos street gang.

In a social media clip recorded prior to his court date, Collins is seen vaping and listening to music while issuing warnings to rival factions. He described his territory as the "Lion's Den" and boasted that his group possessed all the necessary resources for a street war.

During the recording, the suspect referred to himself as a nice gangster while dismissing online threats from opposing groups. He suggested that recent violence in the area was the result of escalating local feuds, comparing the gang landscape to political warfare.
