Editorial Standards

iBoomSlang moves fast, but never at the cost of accuracy. These are the rules our newsroom works to.

Sourcing

Every claim is attributed. We name our sources wherever it is safe to do so, and we say plainly when a source has asked to remain anonymous and why.

Single-source stories are labelled as developing until a second independent source confirms the detail.

Verification and fact-checking

Images, videos and screenshots are reverse-searched and geolocated before publication. Anything we cannot verify is described as unverified in the story itself.

Stories tagged as fact-checked have been reviewed by a second editor against the original source material.

Independence

Sponsored content is always labelled. Commercial partners never see, approve or influence editorial coverage.

Staff declare conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from related coverage.

AI use

AI tools may assist with research, transcription and summarising. Every published word is reviewed by a human editor who is accountable for it.
