‘The Wonderful World of Disney’ Princesses’ Concert: When & How to Stream

Disney fans are in for a royal treat as the studio prepares to broadcast a landmark musical event from the D23 expo. The 'Disney Princess: The Ultimate Concert Celebration' features a rare gathering of the women behind some of cinema's most beloved characters.

The performance brings together a mix of original voice talent and the new faces of live-action remakes. Highlights from the show include a massive group rendition of 'When You Wish Upon a Star' alongside individual hits from the princesses' respective films.

A Generational Meeting of Ariels and Moanas

One of the most anticipated moments of the night is the duet between Jodi Benson, who voiced Ariel in the 1989 classic, and Halle Bailey, the star of the recent live-action 'The Little Mermaid.' The two icons shared the stage to perform 'Part of Your World' in matching thematic attire.

The stage also welcomed Auli’i Cravalho, the voice of the animated Moana, alongside Catherine Laga’aia, who is set to lead the upcoming live-action adaptation. This passing of the torch served as a centerpiece for the D23 crowd.

Legendary Voices Return

The lineup is a who’s who of Disney royalty. Fans can expect appearances from Paige O’Hara (Belle), Anika Noni Rose (Tiana), Judy Kuhn (Pocahontas), and Lea Salonga, the singing voice for both Mulan and Jasmine.

Adding to the nostalgia, Brandy joined the cast to represent her role as Cinderella from the 1997 television special. The collective talent on stage covers decades of Disney's most successful musical storytelling.

Broadcast and Streaming Details

The special event is scheduled to air on Sunday, August 16, at 8 p.m. Viewers with cable can catch the broadcast on ABC, Freeform, or the Disney Channel.

For those who prefer digital access, the concert will be available to stream on Disney+ starting the same day. The program will feature the full concert highlights as part of the 'Wonderful World of Disney' brand.
