Reiger Park shooting: Leaked CCTV footage suggests Regan Collis was at home during the murders

A potential turning point has emerged in the high-profile Reiger Park murder case involving 23-year-old Regan Collis. Newly leaked CCTV footage, broadcast by eNCA, reportedly shows Collis at a private residence during the exact window when four people were gunned down.

Collis recently stood before the Boksburg Magistrate's Court to face a total of nine criminal counts. These include four counts of murder related to a violent incident that took place on 7 August 2026.

The Victims and the Allegations

The brazen attack resulted in the deaths of two civilians, Rolene Lessing and Jaydin Magerman. The tragedy also claimed the lives of two law enforcement officers, Constables Thapelo Tlomatsane and Siphiwe Sibeko, who served in the Gauteng Anti-Gang Unit.

State investigators have identified Collis as a known gang member within the local community. They maintain that he has a direct case to answer despite the emergence of the timestamped video evidence.

Claims of a Setup

The grainy footage allegedly captures Collis spending time with a group of friends at the time the shots were fired elsewhere. His family has been vocal in his defense, claiming that he is being framed for the killings.

According to the family's version of events, members of the 'Sour Boys' gang are responsible for implicating Collis. Police believe the murders were rooted in a violent rivalry between local criminal factions.

Investigation Continues

While the defense focuses on the CCTV alibi, authorities are not backing down. The police have signaled that more arrests are likely as the investigation into the quadruple homicide broadens.

Detectives are working to determine if the attack involved multiple gunmen and how the suspect's movements align with the official timeline. The court is expected to deliberate on the validity of the new footage as the trial proceeds.
