In September 2008, the music world was rocked by news of a horrific aviation accident involving Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker. The private Learjet was attempting to take off from Columbia, South Carolina, when the tragedy unfolded on the runway.

The aircraft failed to clear the perimeter fence, eventually crashing into an embankment and bursting into flames. Of the six people on board, four tragically lost their lives in the impact and subsequent fire.
