Ntsiki Mazwai questions Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma's decision to learn from AfriForum
The outspoken Ntsiki Mazwai has slammed activist Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma for seeking guidance from the Afrikaans interest group.

Outspoken media personality and mayoral candidate Ntsiki Mazwai has once again stirred the pot on social media. Her latest target is activist Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma, who recently revealed she is looking at AfriForum’s success as a blueprint for her own projects.
Ngobese-Zuma, known for leading the March and March movement, is currently building a new legal advocacy group called the SA First Forum. To get the foundation right, she has been studying the institutional structure and legal strategies used by AfriForum.
Learning from the Opposition
Defending her choice, Ngobese-Zuma clarified that the engagement is not a political merger. She told EWN that she is simply observing their advocacy methods and how they function as an organization to help shape her new forum.
AfriForum’s Kallie Kriel has expressed a willingness to meet, noting that the organization has a history of building bridges with various South African groups. However, this cross-pollination of ideas has not sat well with everyone.
Mazwai Leads the Backlash
Mazwai took to X on 18 August to air her grievances, questioning why Ngobese-Zuma would seek guidance from such a group. She viewed the move as a significant oversight, further fueling the tension between the two public figures.
This isn't the first time the pair have clashed online. Mazwai has previously attacked Ngobese-Zuma’s stance on immigration and accused her of using inflated statistics to boost her campaign efforts, though these claims were largely ignored by the activist.
A History of Feuds
Mazwai is no stranger to controversy, recently making headlines for confronting DJ Sbu over perceived mockery of her social media posts. She remains a vocal critic of what she describes as misogyny within the local media landscape.
While Ngobese-Zuma’s supporters have rushed to her defense, the debate continues to rage. The central question remains whether a black-led advocacy group should be taking notes from an organization like AfriForum.
