Hawks address CCTV footage allegedly showing Reiger Park shooting suspect at home
The Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation remains firm on its arrest of Regan Collis despite viral footage suggesting he was elsewhere during the quadruple murder.

The Hawks have officially dismissed claims that their investigation into the Reiger Park massacre is under threat. This follows the emergence of CCTV footage on social media, which supporters of the accused say proves he was not at the crime scene.
Regan Collis, 23, is one of two men charged in connection with the violent incident that claimed four lives. The circulated video allegedly shows Collis at his residence during the exact time the shooting occurred, sparking intense debate over his arrest.
Investigative Confidence
Despite the digital noise, Hawks spokesperson Katlego Mogale stated that the unit is not backing down. She characterized the state's case as 'watertight' and expressed full confidence in the evidence collected by investigators so far.
It remains unclear if the police have officially verified the authenticity of the social media clips. The authorities have not yet confirmed if the footage will be formally reviewed as part of the ongoing criminal proceedings.
Courtroom Allegations
Collis recently appeared in the Boksburg Magistrates Court alongside his co-accused, 24-year-old Jamal Meyer. The pair faces heavy charges for the deaths of two police officers and two women who were gunned down in the Boksburg suburb.
During the proceedings, Meyer raised serious allegations of police brutality, claiming he was assaulted by officers following his arrest. The court is yet to formally address these claims as the legal process moves forward.
A Community in Mourning
The Reiger Park community remains on edge as families seek justice for Jaydin Magerman and Rolene Lessing. The two cousins were shot at close range inside a vehicle after they had gone out to buy firewood for their grandmother.
Both suspects are scheduled to return to the Boksburg Magistrates Court next Tuesday. The upcoming appearance is expected to focus on bail proceedings as the Hawks continue to bolster their evidence.
