The actress recently opened up about a surprising find she made while exploring the props on the hit political drama.

During an appearance on the Reclaiming with Monica Lewinsky podcast, the 66-year-old star shared a funny anecdote about the early days of her career. Before digital uploads, actors relied on physical tapes that were often shipped across the country for consideration.

A Prop With a Past

Janney admitted that while filming, she decided to take a closer look at the items scattered around C.J.'s workspace. To her shock, she pulled out a cassette that wasn't just a dummy prop, but a genuine audition tape belonging to another actor.

“That’s where these are?” Janney recalled thinking at the moment. She joked that the industry was likely using old, failed auditions to fill background space on sets all across Hollywood, meaning anyone could potentially stumble upon her own past performances.
